The tradition of Irish wedding bells goes back as far as the Celitc lands, now the tradition of wedding bells rings across the world! Nearly every wedding has bells incorporated in one way or another, it could be as simple as the church bells to as intricate to every guest ringing the bells post ceremony.

The bells were believed to hold power against evil spirits and to grant wishes!

Who could turn down the idea of these fabulous qualities?!

This tradition leads onto the ringing of the bells before and after the wedding ceremony, notifying and sharing the joy of the newlyweds!

One fun fact of the Irish wedding bells, is that after their wedding has come and gone, couples are to place the bells in a safe and easily accessible place in their home.

Then, when a disagreement arises, the couple is to ring their bells in order to remind each other of their wedding day, including the vows they shared and promised to uphold.

Besides four leaf clovers and leprechauns, what is something else we associate with Ireland and St. Patrick’s Day?

While green is most commonly associated with Ireland, the color blue is actually believed to bring the bride good luck on her wedding day! This is where the blue color is incorporated into the design and many of the other elements.
