Fairy Godmother Weekend – Magical Monday

WOW!

That’s the first word that comes to mind when we think of the wild Fairy Godmother weekend that we just wrapped up.

The Fairy Godmother squad had SIX events between Friday and Saturday- that’s a record!

Fairy Godmother A Wedding and Event Planning Company

To kick off the weekend, Fairy Godmother Denise held her event out in the water storage facility for the Kern Water Authority!

This event was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Kern Water Authority, and the passing of a Bill that would help the future of the water bank!

Kern Water Authority Kevin McCarthy

Congressman Kevin McCarthy made a visit to speak at the event.

As you may know, the Fairies work in all the elements… This event was set in the middle of the wetlands, which means we got to bring the entire space to life…

Mother Nature, however, saw this as the perfect day to bring Bakersfield some of the much needed rain and wind!

Don’t fret- John of the Kern County Water Authority whipped out some rainproof suits and we continued sprinkling magic!

Fairy Godmother TJ and Carlos set out to the marshes to cut some of the most perfect and fresh flowers, tulle and mayonnaise flowers!

Our Fairy Godmother Assistant Emily even weathered the storm with us!

Thank you, Emily for your help in the weather!

As luck would have it, we even got to experience a few flocks of the birds that inhabit the area, and why this event was so important- to protect the lands that keep our ecosystem in check!

As half of the Fairy Godmother squad loaded up and headed for the California Coast, Fairy Godmother Janet was preparing for her evening wedding!

Justin and Monica were wed at a little church on the outskirts of town and then held their wedding reception at the beautiful Kern County Museum!

The Museum is best known for the historic clock tower, known as the Beale Memorial Clock Tower.

A little history behind the clock tower is that it was a gift to the city of Bakersfield from Truxtun Beale (once owner of Tejon Ranch) in memory of his mother, Mary Beale. The clock tower was dedicated in 1904 at the intersection of 17th and Chester. Following city updates and natural disasters, it was later restored, moved and re-dedicated at it’s current location in 1964.

We have seen rustic weddings, and this one was absolutely gorgeous, each detail was unique to the couple- SO fun!

Their aisle was covered with cow hides, centerpieces were vases made of pumpkins, and custom cups for guests to take home as a reminder of the events that day!

While half of the Fairy Squad was on the Coast, the other half was busy at home prepping their own events!

Fairy Godmother Marissa was out at a private residence with Fairy Godmother couple Trystan and Hazel…

WOW! Is all we have to say!

Bakersfield Private Residence Wedding – Magical Monday

The Fairies are at it again! This last Friday Fairy Godmother Marissa planned a beautiful rustic themed wedding at a private residence at a private residence right here in Bakersfield!

Sharlene and Gary tied the knot on July 1st among their close family and friends with a theme unique to their interests!

“You be my glass of wine, I’ll be your shot of whiskey!”

With accents of burlap and centerpieces included dark stained crates, whiskey bottles and wine glasses filled with baby’s breath.

With the napkins on a corner to corner placement, the burlap ties brought the rustic feel full circle on these tables.

All of this was tied together and still had the integration of wine and whiskey accents!

Mossman’s Catering was sure to make the event a hit!

What would a wedding be without an appetizer bar?

Different cheeses and crackers were a hit with this crowd!

The table was accented with different fruits, some of which were handcrafted for a more artistic appeal.

Behind the scenes, Valerie Mitchell was sure to capture all of the best moments for Sharlene and Gary.

How perfect are these?!

Bakersfield Wedding Private Residence – Magical Monday

Monday is here, and the Fairy Godmother team worked tirelessly this past weekend! Saturday, we celebrated the marriage of Matthew and Cynthia at her parent’s immaculate plantation home here in downtown Bakersfield.

Here in Bakersfield the weather has been a little unpredictable, and to add to it, this past weekend we even got some rain! This was merely a speed bump in our wedding day for Cynthia and Matthew, but with a little bit of fairy dust anything is possible.

mm19

When events take us to such great heights, we are sure to capture the moment. Here, Colleen was helping her bride up in her bridal suite when we said “SMILE!”

Just two days before the wedding, Fairy Godmother Colleen made the call that the rain was here to stay and we had to take every measure possible to stay dry. This included the ultimate “save the day” tool, a giant tent!

mm5

The tables were decorated with vintages touches of elegance with dark greens and lavender tulip filled centerpieces, place settings topped with pearl napkin holders, candlesticks with the finishing touch being the gold-accented chargers. The chargers were just one surprise that Cynthia’s Mom and Fairy Godmother Colleen had in store for Matthew and Cynthia.

Designing something elegant and classy was made easy with all of the unique pieces that were included in the design concept. Antique furniture, family photos, and other miscellaneous vintage accents made for a fabulous ambiance.

An elegant seating chart was created that mimicked the vintage color palette and vintage feel of the reception. Carlos with his team from Make It Happen Events added the finishing touch with florals atop the easel, as well as throughout the reception area. Remember, “it’s all in the details!”

mm12

When the time came for our soon-to-be newly weds to head over to St. Francis church for their ceremony, their Fairy Godmother had yet another surprise!

With the help of Cynthia’s adorable parents we were able to obtain, a silver 1963 Rolls Royce, designed originally for the one and only Gene Kelly, rolled up the driveway to take them away.

mm17

mm18

mm6

What event is complete without dessert?! None that we know! The wedding was topped off with yummy treats made by our bride’s family! Beneath the protection of the gazebo, a rustic wood tai-wall from Custom Creations was the finishing touch, and of course, completed with florals from Make It Happen Events!

mm11

With such a large venue and so many different things happening, there were handmade wooden signs directing guests to their desired location. Such a fun idea!

 mm16

mm13

When reception time came, we were able to get everyone served and back under the tent before the rain began. Talk about lucky! The Fairy Godmother team was prepared for this, and no details spared, the tent was complete with the finishing touch of Italian lighting and covered drink and DJ areas!

mm10

The final surprise that Colleen had for her bride was a bagpiper!

mm15

Matthew and Cynthia had a beautiful reception, complete with music and dancing provided by Freestyle Event Services! With the time between dinner, Cynthia and Matthew were sure that their guests would be hungry for another meal, and probably need a little “pick me up” to keep the night going. Nate and his team with NV Catering provided gourmet hotdogs and Frank with Frank and Grind brought his coffee truck and had everything you could imagine!

mm8

Cynthia approved and loved showing off her late night gourmet snack!

mm7

We might add that the NV team was cooking under the stars and the pouring rain!

Dedication at it’s finest!

The Fairy Godmother team most definitely approved of their Frank and Grind deliciousness!

How cute are these designs?!

Rain or shine, the Fairy Godmother team will work tirelessly to accomplish and goal!

This wedding was one for the books and we had so much fun designing and

executing the plan for the day!

Congratulations to Cynthia and Matthew with a huge thank you to all of our “friendors” who worked in the rain with us!
