If you’ve been following our Instagram feed, you’ve seen pictures of a very colorful event we did for a local client. Were you inspired to be bold with color? Did you know you can absolutely do the same thing for a wedding? It’s true. So if you’ve been stressing out trying to decide on your wedding colors, have no fear!
One of the beautiful things about designing and producing weddings (and events) is that everyone is different. And that is GOOD! Not every client will want to use the same color scheme or even use the same colors in the same way.
If you are wanting to be adventurous, here are some ways you can tastefully incorporate a multi-color theme into your wedding!
One important initial suggestion would be to decide what we industry pros call a ‘complementary color.’ Those colors are typically gold, silver, glass, bronze, wood, brick. These will probably be a part of the existing décor. Think the chairs, candlesticks, light fixtures, fire places, etc. Those important, yet seemingly subtle colors can be used in just about everything beginning with invitation accents, down to bridal party attire! Using these subtle accents will help tie everything together perfectly.
Though we always accommodate our clients and encourage them to express themselves however they like, we would suggest the more bold wedding colors can be used for the prominent elements of your day, such as the bridesmaid gowns or perhaps in the versatile floral décor.
Wedding forals are SUCH a great way to showcase lots of different shades! You can get so creative in this area.
It’s really quite common for brides and grooms to use a variety of colors on wedding day. Yes, most couples will choose up to three colors to create a neat and cohesive color palette. But in all reality, weddings can (and should be) as unique as you. They should be an expression of the couple thing the knot. So you do not have to stick to any predefined “palettes” if you don’t want to.
Hopefully this helps set your mind at ease, and allows you to be as unique as you want for your important day!
