Attending bridal shows is a great way to prepare for your wedding. They allow you to check out your options for vendors including venues, entertainment, bakers, caterers, rental companies, wedding planners and so many more! Here are our best tips to help you best prepare for your fabulous day at a bridal show:
1. Create a wedding email
Create a new email just for your wedding information. This ensures that nothing gets lost in your regular email address and you won’t get junk mail after the wedding. It is best to keep all of your wedding information in one specific space.
2. Bring labels
Almost every booth that you visit at a bridal show is going to ask for your contact information. Be sure to include your name, wedding date, wedding email address and phone number on your labels! By creating these labels, you can save a ton of time at the bridal show.
3. Bring along people you can trust and enjoy spending time with.
The people that come with you to a bridal show should be some of your closest friends and family members. You should be able to get their honest opinions and they should be helpful and have your best interest in mind. Consider bringing people like your maid of honor, bridesmaids, mother/father, mother/father of the groom, siblings, or your groom. Just make sure you feel comfortable with those people!
4. Take water and snacks
To be ready for a full day of wedding planning, you do not want to have to stop early to eat. Make sure you throw some healthy energizing snacks and lots of water in your bag before you leave. You want to get the most out of your day at a bridal show!
5. Take notes and pictures
It will be hard to remember all of the vendors after the bridal show. Taking notes and pictures of what you like and dislike will help spark your memory when you want to make decisions. It is even acceptable to have your maid of honor or a close friend do all of the note-taking for you.
6. Collect all of the business cards, brochures, and freebies
Besides getting lots of free stuff (!!), you will also have easy ways to contact vendors. If you bring an extra bag or folder for all of these items, you will be organized and not lose any important information.
8. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
The vendors are there to help you. If you have any questions or comments, do not be afraid to ask. This will help you reach decisions easier and more confidently. All questions are good questions. Be open to learning new things about preparing for your wedding!
9. Be comfortably ready for a great day!
A bridal show can be a memorable time during the wedding process. Be sure to dress comfortably so you are relaxed during your day. Cute and casual is the way to go! It is always nice to look good so you, in turn feel good. Skip the fancy stilettos; just be comfortable. You’ll be glad you were.
