Tacos, margaritas, bright colors…it must be Cinco de Mayo!
Are you planning to celebrate this weekend? It’s doesn’t take much to plan a super fun fiesta. There are so many great party and food ideas, planning is almost just as fun as the event itself.
Costumes, themed or potluck, whatever you decide, take advantage of all the bright beautiful colors that are totally acceptable right now. Hot pink? You got it. Neon? Do it. Get creative and have fun with the possibilities. Be sure to always check in with your venue and ask if they have any specific rules for how and what decorations are used at their facility. If you’re planning to fiesta at your place, go crazy!
The first suggestion for any event, big or small, is of course to hire a Fairy Godmother ? We provide imaginative design paired with impeccable coordination to create a one-of-a-kind event for you and your guests. It’s the ultimate way to be the host/hostess with most/mostess while actually enjoying your party along with your guests.
If you do a costume theme party, encourage your guests to dress up in traditional Mexican attire and festive colors. Once they get to your place, you can provide props and fun accessories to be used in all your photos. Think Sombreros, little guitars, maracas, and Mexican flags. You could even have all your guests vote on a “best dressed.” Award your big winner with a themed prize.
Another option is to designate a fun theme for you party. Margaritas would be simple in that you can easily find margarita decorations. Frozen or on the rocks? The best part about this theme is all the different types of margaritas you’re going to make! ? Ask your friends to bring over their high-speed blenders or rent a couple margarita machines. There are many different flavors you can provide your guests so be sure to craft some labels for all those pitchers. It’s also a good idea to provide non-alcoholic options, especially if your event is kid-friendly, you’ll want to have array of different selections and of course, lots of water.
A tried and true way to lessen the stress of hosting is to have a potluck. You can ask your guests to bring different types of food that, once all together, cover all your bases and provide a complete meal for everyone in attendance. Equally hassle-free is a taco bar. You can still ask your guests to contribute different components and then allow everyone to create their own tacos or taco salads.
Are you feeling inspired yet?! Hopefully you feel better equipped to effortlessly tackle a fun, entertaining fiesta tomorrow and remember your Fairy Godmothers are always here to help.
