First things first, think of your venue. Where is your cake table going to be setup? Will it be indoors or outdoors? What will the weather be like on your wedding day? These are just a few questions to consider before you even get going!

Set up a few cake tastings to get things rolling. Be sure to check reviews and have a few flavors in mind for your bakery. Be sure to ask lots of questions, so take note of any that you may have so you are prepared when it comes time to start tasting!
Next up is your desired wedding cake style. It’s important to have an idea of what you want the cake’s aesthetic to be. The last thing you want to do is waste your potential baker’s time for having no idea what you want. Don’t be afraid to break away from the traditional idea of what a wedding cake should be, this is your day! Have a game plan ready!

Another important element is getting your spouse-to-be involved! You won’t be the only one enjoying the delicious creation, so why should you have to make these big decisions all alone?
