Who is a sports fan here?! Let’s face it; we all have a certain team that we really do love! Imagine having a party with a sports theme! That’s exactly what we did for this baseball retirement party. Now don’t worry, you don’t have to be a baseball star like Colby Lewis to have this theme. It can be for any sports fans alike. Here are some quick tips for planning your sports-themed party!
Pick your color scheme very carefully
We all know that colors represent teams. So, you want to pick a color scheme that is representative of your team. If a sports team has one or two main colors, you can always pair a complementary color for the accents. For example, at this party the colors were red and blue for the Texas Rangers, so we paired green plants and grass to complement the colors and carry through the sports theme.
Have theme appropriate food and desserts
Hot dogs, popcorn, and pretzels, oh my! Don’t those all remind you of going to a sporting event? To help keep your sports theme consistent, have stadium food! Your guests will love feeling like they are at an actual sports game. Plus, you can make your desserts with your team’s logo or look like the sporting equipment! It’s all fun and playful ways to have an out of the ballpark party!
Use sports gear or memorabilia as the decorations
There is no better way to have a sports party than to use actual equipment and souvenirs as the decorations! We love how this baseball-themed party had real jerseys, balls, and bats to commemorate the team and player. Plus, you can save money on decorations by using some of your collected sports memorabilia instead!
