Say hello to your Fairy Godmother
Born and raised in California, Colleen Bauer founded Fairy Godmother a Wedding and Event Planning Co. in 2010. Colleen Bauer is a Master Wedding Planner through the Association of Bridal Consultants. This is the highest certification you can obtain with ABC. She is also a certified wedding planner through the Bridal Society. Colleen holds the expertise and connections to lead her team to produce events that are truly unforgettable and exceed expectations. She is a creative expert whose true passion for crafting extraordinary events for her clients makes her business shine. Her infinite knowledge provided to her clients is what proves her to be an invaluable resource when it comes to coordinating events. She is reliable, persistent, resourceful, and level-headed.
Celebrating life’s special moments was something she came to value early on, throughout her childhood. Her mother was a true hostess- throwing showers and making every birthday a big celebration. Coming from a very social family and being her mother’s party helper – it came naturally to her. Little did Colleen know that would be her introduction to party planning!
Her father on the other hand was an entrepreneur. He was also a banker who worked his way up in the banking world and opened his own bank not once, but twice. He taught her the value of hard work, attention to detail, and organization.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Colleen was a banker for ten years. Slowly moving her way up the ladder, she worked her way from Assistant Vice President to Vice President, to Senior Vice President. She was one of only five women Senior Vice Presidents and also the youngest the bank had ever had. She was and is still today a Chairperson for the Bakersfield Women’s Business conference. At the time, Colleen was encouraged by her fellow board members and several event partners to pursue more work in the area of event planning. This is where the Fairy Godmother story began.
Never in her wildest dreams did she think that Fairy Godmother would be her full-time career. It was always going to be a small hobby – something light and fun but it just continued to flourish. Fairy Godmother grew from doing twenty-two weddings and events our first year with no website, green and coral as our brand colors to now – twelve years later- blue as our staple color with twelve planners and designers that she couldn’t feel more fortunate to create memorable occasions and experiences beside.
Building relationships with her clients, hearing their stories, and seeing them beam on their day are all more reasons she loves what she does! Colleen is the calm during the storm and will make any imperfection on your special day go unnoticed. And this is evident when you watch Colleen in action.
