After a long March, April always puts a little spring in our step.
See what we did there?
Here we are, nearing the end of April and spring weddings are on the forefront of our minds. Though we love weddings no matter the time
of year, each season brings its own special qualities. There are so many reasons why spring, in particular, is so wonderful.
Robin Williams once said, “Spring is nature’s way of saying “let’s party!” We couldn’t agree more!
There’s something profoundly special about spring time. Trees are turning green again, flowers are in bloom, and there’s an inspiring sense of newness all around. Generally, weddings during this time of year are crisp, clean, and fresh in both style and ambiance. However, you can also integrate an array of beautiful vibrant colors as seen in nature to really reflect this special season.
The best thing you can do, though, for your March, April, or May wedding is…do YOU. As far as your Fairy Godmother’s are concerned, this is
your day and spring is just along for the ride. ?
As you can see below, this wedding at Bakersfield’s Noriega House utilized very simple colors, sticking primarily with bright green and white. It also helps when you get to work with super talented photographers like Boone and Stacie, just sayin’.
Another great idea if you’re planning a spring time wedding (or event of any kind), is to embrace the natural beauty and regeneration of the season by going outdoors. The fresh colors this couple chose, were incorporated
beautifully with the natural features of the venue.
In addition to picking seasonally appropriate colors, it is widely recommended (and always fun) to incorporate lots and lots of florals! Of course, flowers are a common component of wedding day décor, but during spring time, it just feels right to go big! Light and airy floral arrangements can easily bring a sweet elegance to your event design. If you find yourself with a tight floral budget, have no fear! Your Fairy Godmothers will help properly place these beauties where they will really pop. Adding lots of greenery is an excellent and inexpensive way to bring spring into your event details.
If the weather is right, spring can provide an incredibly cool Goldilocks type of climate for you big day (you know, not too cold, not too hot, but juuust right). Don’t forget to also plan ahead for the unpredictable nature of…Mother Nature. Spring is notoriously rainy and if you’re from Bakersfield, you know how quickly things can change.
Lastly, naked or semi-naked cakes are such a great option for your spring wedding. It considers spring with its fresh look, yet boasts undisputed
style. Courtney from Ghiladolci Bakery shows us just how it’s done.
Robin Williams was right. Spring IS nature’s way of saying “let’s party!” It’s also how your Fairy Godmothers do spring, too!
