Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you became an officiant?
On November 5, 1999, I was running a very successful DJ business. I had seven or eight DJ’s working for me and on this day, I got a call from one of my DJs. He was at a wedding at the salvation army on Willison. The bride was in a panic, she had 250 guests from all over the country and a few from overseas and the officiant was a no show. So, Chris (My DJ) Called me and asked if I could officiate their wedding and at this time, I was not an officiant. He said the bride didn’t even care if I was official or not. They would figure it out that coming Monday. I did a little research and got ordained. I didn’t know if it was legal or anything, but I was just trying to help. Turns out It was legal, and I performed My first wedding (BTW the officiant was stuck over the grapevine on the LA side and couldn’t get here.
How long have you been in the wedding industry?
My first venture into the wedding industry was DJing for a company named DJ Network. Within two years I was on my own and by 2025 I was producing my first bridal show.

How would you describe your officiating style?
Fun & upbeat!
What is your philosophy when it comes to creating and conducting wedding ceremonies?
This is the client’s day and the sky is the limit. Let’s make a memory!
How do you personalize each ceremony for the couple?
All my ceremony’s “well” similar, are custom written for each couple. Some included a blessing for the rings, and some included a shot ceremony or letter to each other.

What is the process like for couples who choose to work with you?
Very easy, once I am retained, the ball is in the client’s hands (with a little guidance from me). I check in with them a few times depending on client’s style and personality.
How do you collaborate with couples to design their ceremony?
Questions, lots of questions. We can meet in person, over the phone, or even via Zoom. Whatever works for the client.
What do you love most about being a wedding officiant?
Seeing these couples’ love for each other and being a part of their special day.

What is your favorite part of the ceremony?
The ring blessing is my favorite part.
What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding ceremony?
Find someone you vibe with. If you feel comfort and trust with your officiant, then you will be at ease (at least with the ceremony) and it will be a joyful memory for the rest of your life. Find a professional, someone who has done a few hundred weddings. Someone comfortable speaking in front of a large group of people. Remember, this is a once-in-a-lifetime event (usually) and there is no going back to do it better next time.
