Kimberly’s a beloved member of the fairy crew who has an eye for design, and a passion for creating the best day for her clients. Kimberly enjoys being a Fairy Godmother to bring order to the chaos, clarity to confusion, and be there to support her couples on their biggest day. Her love and natural knack for interior design help inspire her creative vision that shines in her work.
Kimberly’s a mother of two and happily married to her best friend. She loves her role within Fairy Godmother which allows her a creative outlet while giving her the confidence that extends beyond her job and into her personal life. We could go on all day about how amazing she is and the outstanding work she creates, but we’ll let her tell you her story!
Why did you join FG?
I joined the FG team because I’ve always enjoyed a profession where I have the opportunity to work closely with my clients and have a creative outlet. As a stay-at-home mom looking to get out into the workforce again, I knew it couldn’t be just any job that took me out of the home but one that truly fulfilled me – then I found Fairy Godmother! I couldn’t have found a better fit!”
Tell us more about what you do?
I design weddings! Being an Event and Wedding Designer, the work starts long before the wedding date. I take a client’s vision and help bring it to life by creating a design mockup, assembling a team of talented wedding pros, and ensuring the day of, everything is ready to go before the “I do’s.”
Being able to listen to my clients, and be intentional with the design and budget, while working as part of a team is where the true Fairy magic happens!
What is your superpower?
My superpower is being able to hone in on what my client’s vision truly is. Some clients have a clear vision of what they want their day to look like, while others are caught somewhere in between a few different styles. I come in and help give clarity to a client’s vision.
I listen and take into account all other aspects of what is currently going on in their lives. I help calm the worry, share their excitement, and am there to support them in any way that I can.
What is your favorite part of what you do?
“I love that my profession pushes me to think critically and to think fast on my feet. I do more than just design! When I get to set up and then assist with the wedding, working alongside Colleen and the other wedding pros to make sure the whole day is as smooth as possible is a lot of fun. Ultimately, creating a wedding that not only looks beautiful but allows the clients to relax and enjoy their day is my favorite part.”
If you were planning a wedding, why would you hire Fairy Godmother?
I would hire Fairy Godmother because you have an entire team working together to create the best day and bring your vision to life! We have over a decade of experience and tackle problems before they arise. We take as much of the work and stress off the client’s shoulders and put it onto ours.
In FG what are you most excited about for 2024?
I am excited about the upcoming destination weddings booked. Destination weddings push me professionally and provide the opportunity to work at new venues with new wedding pros. Every venue is unique and I love stepping into their “house” and showing them why we, Fairy Godmother, are good at what we do. So being able to build up that reputation with new wedding pros and venues outside of Bakersfield is exciting!
