Colleen Bauer

Every extraordinary team starts with one extraordinary person. Colleen Bauer is the founder, visionary, and driving force behind Fairy Godmother Events.
Colleen grew up in a home where hospitality was a way of life. Her mother, born in Portugal, brought warmth and intention to every gathering. Her father, a banker with an entrepreneurial spirit, showed her how to build something with both structure and soul. From an early age, Colleen understood that a beautiful event is not just about the details; it is about how people feel when they walk into the room.
Before founding Fairy Godmother in 2010, Colleen spent years in the corporate world, where she developed a rare and powerful skill set: the financial discipline to manage complex budgets responsibly, and the creative instinct to design celebrations that feel effortless and alive. When a colleague encouraged her to pursue event planning professionally after watching her transform a corporate event with confetti cannons and vision, Colleen listened. In January 2010, she coordinated her first wedding (pro bono) and earned twenty-two referrals in the first year.
That same word-of-mouth trust has defined Fairy Godmother ever since.
Today, Colleen holds the highest designation awarded by the Association of Bridal Consultants: Master Wedding Planner. She leads Bakersfield’s largest full service wedding planner team, has planned weddings at Stockdale Country Club, Bakersfield Country Club, Seven Oaks, and estates across Central Valley California, and brings the same level of care and leadership to every single couple she serves.
She is also, simply put, the person you want in your corner.
