Tell us the story behind Make It Happen Events. How did it all begin?
Make It Happen officially launched on August 1, 2013, but the journey began long before that. I’ve always known I wanted to start a business someday. Initially, I tried baking cakes, and at one point, I even considered becoming an elementary school teacher. However, it was my sister who recognized my creative spark before I did. Together, we noticed a significant need for the type of services we could offer and decided to fill that gap. She was the genius behind the name. We initially considered names like Make It Possible and Make It Beautiful, but when she suggested Make It Happen, we knew it was perfect.
What inspired you to focus on both rentals and florals?
We identified a unique niche in combining rentals and florals. Clients would often come to us for rentals but also needed help with centerpieces or other decorative elements. By offering both services, we could create a seamless, full-service experience—a true one-stop shop for their event needs.
What sets your company apart from other wedding pros in the area?
We genuinely care about bringing our clients’ visions to life. Our work goes beyond just providing rentals—we focus on the details and the magic that elevate an event into an unforgettable experience.
What types of rentals and floral arrangements are your specialties?
We specialize in large floral installations, luxurious statement pieces, and backdrops overflowing with flowers. Our rental collection includes stunning options like our gold Chiavari chairs, which were one of my very first investments. These signature elements make every event feel both unique and elegant.
What themes and color palettes excite you most?
I love working with deep, rich, moody colors and unique, artistic designs. It’s especially exciting when clients trust my design expertise and allow me to get creative.
What trends are you currently seeing in wedding rentals and floral design?
In 2025, technology is merging with florals—imagine a floral video screen as a backdrop paired with lush arrangements! Monochromatic florals are also trending, with varying shades of a single color, like whites, creams, or beiges. In rentals, we’re seeing an emphasis on specialty and luxury items, including designer furniture, upgraded tableware, and statement decor.
What is a new trend you hope to see more of in 2025?
I hope to see more bold, vibrant colors! Bright and playful tones add so much energy and personality to an event. I encourage clients to embrace color and not shy away from it.

Choose your favorite colors and items that reflect who you are as a couple. Most importantly, hire a planner! We’re a design and rental company, not a planning service. What tips do you have for making a big impact with a smaller budget?
Stick with an abundance of the same color for a striking visual effect. For example, all white, all black, or all red creates a bold and cohesive look.
